Sandipani Ashram is one of the most historically and spiritually significant places in Ujjain. According to the Puranas, Lord Krishna along with his brother Balaram and friend Sudama studied at this ashram under the guidance of Guru Sandipani. The ashram has a Gomti Kund (sacred pond) where it is believed Lord Krishna washed his writing slate.
